Jim Wallace, PT

Jim Wallace - Physical TherapistA physical therapist for nearly 15 years, Jim Wallace, PT, joined the Apex team to provide orthopedic evaluations and treatments and offer services in sports therapy and injury rehabilitation. Throughout his years as a PT, Jim has received specialized training in such fields as advanced pain management, lumbar spine evaluation and treatment, vestibular rehabilitation, balance disorders, total joint rehabilitation, and strength/conditioning.

Before earning his Bachelor of Science degree in physical therapy from the University of Alabama in 1998, Jim served four years in the U.S. Marine Corps. Sports and physical fitness has always played a significant role in his life – he often competed in 5/10Ks, half-marathons and sprint triathlons – and this led to his interest in becoming a physical therapist.

Jim has first-hand experience in realizing the benefits of challenging the body to reach new physical heights. While spending time in a traveling physical therapy program, Jim passed through Central Oregon and fell in love with the area, especially its hiking, mountaineering and climbing opportunities. He capitalized on these opportunities by summiting both Mt. Rainier and Mt. Hood. Such a lifestyle requires an acute knowledge of the body, its limits and how to safely and effectively improve performance.

Jim can regularly be found hiking and rock climbing at Smith Rock State Park. He, his wife Michelle and his toddler son enjoy exploring Central Oregon together, both on bike and on foot.
